I'm assuming that the centaur is not a playable race in Nightfall, even though there is a centaur hero in the storyline, but I just wanted to confirm that with you all.

And if my assumptions are correct, then why, why, WHY are unique races not offered in Guild Wars expansions yet? More importantly, why would they include races in the game that you simply can't play, but obviously exist in the world?

Can't play centaurs yet. A long time ago they posted a faq on the official site that said there may be other playable races in the future. Basically they didn't confirm nor deny it; they just said they might some day if the feel like it. They're probably holding that one back til they're running low on ideas for new content.

Yeah, I remember that FAQ a long while back, around when I preordered "Prophecies" (as it's apparently called now). I've been out of the game for a long time.

I have to be honest, I'm a little bitter about it. Looks like I won't be going out to buy Nightfall tomorrow like I had planned.

You do get to play the centaur in a way. You get Zhed as a ele hero. So you can set his skills and micro manage him if that is how you want to play.

Yeah, I did gather that from the descriptions, but it's not really the same. Hopefully NCSoft will wise up in the future. Seriously, is anyone with me? Wouldn't you like to actually see something other than human?
